A Free Calculator for handheld devices using the Palm OS

Free RPN Calculator

Free Five-Function RPN Calculator

Well, there are no fancy graphic buttons, but it's actually a very powerful calculator and it's absolutely FREE!

If you're used to an old Hewlett Packard calculator and want an RPN calculator for your Palm Pilot or other handheld device using the Palm OS, then here's a basic five-function RPN calculator that you can have for free.

It handles all of the basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) and has a 20-value internal stack to handle complex nested calculations. And, unlike the calculator software that came with your PDA, it also handles exponents.

The RPN notation is a powerful technique for performing complex calculations, but if you haven't used a Hewlett-Packard calculator (or only owned a model introduced after the mid 80s), my tutorial will tell you how to use an RPN calculator.

This version of the free calculator requires Palm OS v3.0 or better. That means that it will work on a Palm III or anything that came later. Click here to download your free calculator. The installation file is a zip file for Windows (sorry, I don't have a stuffit file for the Mac folks, yet). You'll need WinZip or a similar program to install the calculator on your handheld. You can get WinZip here.

If you'd prefer a colorful keypad with large graphics, my five-function color calculator uses the same calculating engine and the same button layout as the free calculator, but has a colorful, graphic keypad with large graphics, and the price is only $1.95. Buy it here.
