An Advanced Financial Calculator for your Palm-powered PDA

Advanced Financial Calculator for the Palm OS

It's designed to fill the needs of any student in finance or accounting. It's the calculator that I use in my own classes. Like my basic financial calculator, it can calculate
  • the number of payments in a loan or ordinary annuity,
  • interest rates of loans and rates of return on investments,
  • payment amounts for loans and annuities,
  • present and future values of cash payments and annuities.
But this calculator also has a payment mode key to handle both ordinary annuities and annuities due.
Deluxe Statistical Calculator

Deluxe Financial Calculator And it has advanced functions like discounted cash flow analysis (net present value and internal rate of return) that will handle up to 31 cash flows (one initial and 30 subsequent cash flows).

It has additional editing functions (CHange Sign and BackSpace) and I've even included basic statistical functions (sum of sample, sample mean, and standard deviation of sample or population). And the buttons are big, so it's tolerant of any minor misalignment of the tap screen.

This program has been fully tested to perform all of the most common financial calculations, and all results were compared to an HP-12C to assure accuracy of the calculator.

It's an upgrade of my basic financial calculator, and is based on the free RPN calculator so it has proven five-function (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and exponents) capabilities and has a 10-value internal stack to handle complex nested calculations.

And don't worry about that credit card balance, because the price is only $6.95. That's the total price. There's no charge for shipping and no charge for handling because you can download it now.

The RPN notation is a powerful technique for performing complex calculations, but if you haven't used a Hewlett-Packard calculator (or only owned a model introduced after the mid 80s), my tutorial will teach you how to use an RPN calculator. The tutorial for the financial calculator begins here.

This calculator requires Palm OS v3.0 or better. That means that it will work with just about any Palm-powered PDA made after March of 1998 (that's a Palm III, or any Palm device that came after the Palm III). Click here to buy and download your copy. The installation file is a zip file for Windows (sorry, I don't have a stuffit file for the Mac folks, yet). You'll need WinZip or a similar program to install the calculator on your handheld. You can get WinZip here.
