Software for handheld devices using the Palm OS

Everybody needs a financial calculator

Suppose that you owe your credit card company a total of $4,888 and you would like to pay off the balance. How long will it take you to do this if the credit card company charges 16.99% annual interest and you can afford to pay $100 per month? (The Answer: You'll be paying that monthly bill for seven years.)

That's just one of the common problems that you will be able to solve quickly and easily with my basic financial calculator. It has been fully tested to perform all of the most common financial calculations. All results were compared to an HP-12C to assure accuracy of the calculator. This calculator will tell you
  • the number of payments in a loan or ordinary annuity,
  • interest rates of loans and rates of return on investments,
  • payment amounts for loans and annuities,
  • present and future values of cash payments or ordinary annuities.
Basic Financial Calculator

It's based on my free RPN calculator, so it handles all of the basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) and has a 20-value internal stack to handle complex nested calculations. And, unlike the calculator software that came with your PDA, it also handles exponents.

And don't worry about that credit card balance, because the price is only $3.95. That's the total price. There's no charge for shipping and no charge for handling because you can download it now.

The RPN notation is a powerful technique for performing complex calculations, but if you haven't used a Hewlett-Packard calculator (or only owned a model introduced after the mid 80s), my tutorial will teach you how to use an RPN calculator. The tutorial for the financial calculator begins here.

This basic financial calculator requires Palm OS v3.0 or better. That means that it will work with just about any Palm powered PDA made after March of 1998. Click here to buy and download your copy. The installation file is a zip file for Windows (sorry, I don't have a stuffit file for the Mac folks, yet). You'll need WinZip or a similar program to install the calculator on your handheld. You can get WinZip here.

My advanced financial calculator performs all functions of the basic financial calculator, plus discounted cash flow analysis, analysis of annuities due and basic statistical functions.
