His friends knew him as Lester Del Rey, he claimed that his birthname was
Ramon Felipe Alvarez del Rey, but his real name may have been Leonard Knapp.
He wrote science fiction using a number of different pseudonyms, including
Erik van Lhin.
The Sky is Falling (1954)
At least one literary critic described Lester Del Rey as "an author of
tales about robots and spaceships", but this story contains nothing about
either. Actually, it seems to belong more to the genre of Fantasy than
Science Fiction, as the setting is a future culture in which magic has
replaced science and technology.
