The Land That Time Forgot (1917)
In 1916, Bowen Tyler is traveling to France aboard an American oceanliner to
join the Lafayette Escadrille when the ship is torpedoed by a German U-boat in
the English Channel. Through a strange turn of events, Tyler ends up aboard,
and in command of, the German submarine. And that's just the first chapter
of an exciting adventure tale that includes piracy, battle at sea, sabotage,
and struggle for survival on a mysterious island continent full of dinosaurs
and cave men. Oh, and, uh . . . there's a dog and a beautiful young woman.
Adventure, mystery, romance; you'll find all of that and more in Edgar Rice
Burroughs' The Land That Time Forgot, and you can download

The Lost Continent (1915)
The three novels of the Caprona Trilogy are about a lost continent,
located in the southern Pacific Ocean, but that's not the subject of
The Lost Continent. This novel is set in Europe and Great Britain.
The scenario of this novel is that the United States never intervenes
in the First World War, but instead declares its strict neutrality and
passes a law forbidding any American from crossing the line at thirty
degrees west longitude. Burroughs then supposes that the consequence of
this action is that the First World War ends with the total collapse of
civilisation in Europe and the British Isles, a fact that is unknown to
the American continents until two hundred years later, when the airship
commanded by Jefferson Turck is driven off course in a storm and is forced
to land in England.
This is the story of what happened to Turck and his crewmates in that land.

The Lost World (1912)
But, if it's the dinosaurs that you like, you might want to read a little
bit of Sir Arthur Conan (the Barbarian) Doyle. Even though Sir Arthur is
well known for his tales of the investigative genious Sherlock Holmes, he
spent most of his literary life trying to escape from the consulting
detective, and wrote many novels (and even series of novels) that had
nothing to do with Dr. Watson's genius of Baker Street.
The Lost World is the introductory novel of one such short sequence
(there is a sequel entitled Return to the Lost World). This story
is a tale of British explorers who discover an elevated table-land in
central Africa, where dinosaurs still live.
